10 – Ten: Perfection, Fullness

TEN

For the Jews, ten was the minimum number of people required to consider a congregation. They built a synagogue, if at least ten Jews lived in a given area.

Ten was a common number of honorary escorts for Jewish wedding celebrations. When Boaz took Ruth as his wife, he “picked out ten of the elders of the town and asked them to sit nearby” (Ruth 4:2).
